Training on Ground-Based Augmentation System

To follow the ICAO Global Air Navigation Plan for promulgating the application of satellite-based navigation technology in ATC operations, and to prepare for the trial of satellite-based navigation technology in precision approach and landing at HKIA, the division arranged overseas experts to conduct an in-house training course on Ground-Based Augmentation System (GBAS) for colleagues from different divisions at CAD Headquarters during the period on 26 February-2 March 2018. Apart from the fundamental principles of technologies and international standards for GBAS in technical and operational aspects, the overseas experts also shared their experiences, insights and considerations in the planning and implementation of GBAS in other countries.
