Safety Risk Assessment Training for Air Traffic Engineering System
Safety risk assessment workshops shall be conducted to assess the safety magnitude of a project/change by Subject Matter Experts from related subject areas through brainstorming sessions led by an experienced facilitator. An experienced facilitator should not only possess the knowledge in safety risk assessment but also the skills to guide the participants, and lead focused discussions through the different steps and good appreciation of the impact of group dynamics during brainstorming sessions which often stimulate participants' creative and/or judgmental thinking. Recognising the importance of the roles of a facilitator, AESD organised an in-house facilitator training course in March 2018 to nurture more approved facilitators. In addition to theoretical training, the course also included practical sessions to allow the trainees to play the roles of facilitators and participants in simulated safety risk assessment workshop environment.
