Telecommunications Services

Being one of the major aviation communication hubs in Asia Pacific region, the Aeronautical Network Center (ANC) continues providing high quality and efficient exchange of air traffic messages and operational meteorological messages to support Air Navigation Services. During the last year, the total number of messages handled by the Air Traffic Message Handling System (AMHS) was 68 799 569, representing a significant increase of 18%. On Aeronautical Broadcasting Service, the number of operational meteorological messages broadcasted to aircraft in flight was 323 109.

With the readiness of the Common Regional Virtual Private Network (CRV) in Asia Pacific region, the current bilateral point-to-point connections with adjacent overseas stations will progressively migrate to a common network service. The introduction of CRV not only enhances the aeronautical information exchange between Asia Pacific and other regions, but also supports various functions of the ICAO Aviation System Block Upgrades, and marks a new milestone for System-Wide Information Management to facilitate greater sharing of ATMS information in future.
