New ATC / Flight Procedures
During the year, the departure speed restriction applicable to all Standard Instrument Departure routes from HKIA was revised with the aim of achieving more consistent departure spacing and maximising runway capacity.
New helicopter departure and approach procedures were implemented for Shun Tak helipad with the application of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) latest Performance Based Navigation criteria. The procedures enabled helicopters with the applicable navigation capabilities to operate with a lower minima, thereby enhancing both safety and accessibility.
