C919 Aircraft Flight Demonstration over Victoria Harbour (16 December 2023)
If weather permits, C919 will take off at around 10:30am on December 16 from Hong Kong International Airport with the actual departure route subject to wind direction and runway operation mode. The C919 will then overfly Victoria Harbour from west to east twice (please refer to the flight demonstration path illustration) – with the first time at 1,500ft and then at 1,000ft.
The C919 aircraft flight demonstration can be seen from vantage points on both sides of the Victoria Harbour, such as the Tsim Sha Tsui East waterfront, Kwun Tong promenade, Quarry Bay Promenade, West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade, the Central and Western District Promenade, and the Golden Bauhinia Square.
To facilitate the flight demonstration, the Civil Aviation Department will establish a temporary restricted flying zone (RFZ) in and around Victoria Harbour. Flying activities, such as the flying of unmanned aircraft systems (drones and model aircraft), kites, captive balloons, mass release of small balloons, etc, will be restricted. Please visit the electronic portal for small unmanned aircraft "eSUA" and the relevant Notice To Airmen for further details.
